The bac in Côte d'Ivoire is organised by the Ministry of National Education's Direction des examens et concours (DECO). It is split into three streams, general, technical and artistic, and takes place in three stages: physical education (EPS), oral and practical papers, then written papers. In 2026, 329,372 candidates sat the written papers from 15 to 19 June, in 549 centres, and results were announced on 6 July. Here is how it is organised, the official calendar, registration, results and appeals, and what comes after the bac.
The DECO, which organises the Ivorian bac
The DECO organises school exams (CEPE, BEPC, bac) and teaching competitions. Its website (men-deco.org) publishes the exam calendar, registration platforms, results and disciplinary decisions. Registration for the BEPC and the bac goes through its unified BEPC and BAC exam platform, which brings together online registration, documents for school and independent candidates, control lists and EPS forms. Independent candidates have a dedicated pre-registration page.
For questions: courriel@men-deco.org, or +225 27 20 32 82 17.
The BEPC falls under the same directorate: if you have a brother or sister in year 9 (3e), our guide to preparing for the BEPC is written for them.
The three streams and the tracks
The Ivorian bac is split between three streams. In 2026, the Ivorian Press Agency gave this breakdown:
| Stream | Candidates in 2026 |
|---|---|
| General | 303,625 |
| Technical | 25,150 |
| Artistic | 597 |
| Total | 329,372 |
Each stream has several tracks, with their subjects and coefficients. As of 2 November 2026, the DECO does not publish online a list of tracks or a coefficient table that we were able to consult. Rather than copy unofficial figures, we refer you to the most reliable source near you: your school, which gives you the syllabus and coefficients of your track, and the DECO's registration platform, which shows your track.
What you can do now: ask your form teacher for your track's coefficient table, and rank your subjects from heaviest to lightest. That table should guide your revision time. If you are still torn between two science tracks, our article on choosing between bac C and bac D helps you think about where they lead.
How the bac unfolds: EPS, oral and practical, written
The official calendar for the 2025 session, set by ministerial order no. 0020 of 30 October 2024, shows the order of papers:
| Step | 2025 session |
|---|---|
| Registration | 14 October to 6 December 2024 |
| Payment of exam fees | 21 October to 20 December 2024 |
| EPS | 28 April to 9 May 2025 |
| Oral and practical papers, technical bac | 3 to 13 June 2025 |
| Oral and practical papers, general and artistic bac | 10 to 13 June 2025 |
| Written papers | 16 to 20 June 2025 |
| Announcement of results | Monday 7 July 2025, 2 pm |
| Special appeals juries | Friday 11 July 2025 (deliberations at 9 am, results at 2 pm) |
Remember three things. First, EPS counts and comes early, late April or early May: do not neglect it. Next, the oral and practical papers come a few days before the written ones, which leaves little time to revise for them separately. Finally, exam fees are paid online, through the Public Treasury (Trésor Pay, by mobile), before a deadline: in 2025, 20 December.
Calendar: the 2026 dates and the 2027 session
For the 2026 session, written papers took place from Monday 15 to Friday 19 June, and results were announced on Monday 6 July, according to the Ivorian Press Agency.
For the 2027 session, the calendar is not online yet: on 2 November 2026, the DECO's "Calendrier des examens et concours" page still shows the 2025 session calendar. Yet the 2025 order was signed at the end of October and registration had opened in mid-October. Registration for the 2027 session can therefore open at any moment: watch the DECO's website and your school from now on. To prepare for the June written papers, our method for revising for the bac with past papers offers a schedule for the last months.
Results, appeals and documents
Results are officially announced by the DECO, then an appeals procedure lets a candidate challenge a mark: in 2025, the special juries met four days after the announcement. Trust no result circulating on social media before the official announcement.
Fraud: sanctions that last
Every year, the DECO publishes the decisions of its national disciplinary commission: those for the 2026 session came out on 8 October 2026. A sanctioned candidate can only register again with a certificate lifting the sanction, which the DECO issues online for the 2027 session. Cheating at the bac therefore costs you more than one session: it can block you the following year. "Papers" circulating the night before an exam are a scam or fraud; either way, they do not help you.
Your final year, step by step
The months below follow the official calendar of the 2025 session; those for 2027 will be confirmed by the next order.
| When | What you do |
|---|---|
| Mid-October to early December | Register through your school (or as an independent candidate) and check your surname, first names and date of birth |
| Before the end of December | Pay the exam fees through Trésor Pay and keep proof of payment |
| Throughout the final year | Prepare your application abroad if you want to leave: Campus France, scholarships |
| January to April | Practise on full papers, prepare for EPS |
| Late April, early May | Take EPS |
| June | Oral and practical, then written papers |
| July | Results, then an appeal if a mark seems wrong |
This schedule does not replace your school's instructions, which come from the DECO and your regional directorate.
Revise with papers and with your class
The DECO does not publish an online archive of papers. Ask your teachers for mock bac and term test papers. On Compatri, the exam paper archive (in French) gathers papers uploaded by pupils, reviewed and published no earlier than the day after the exam. It is being built and is still sparse for Côte d'Ivoire: every paper you upload after the exam helps a pupil of your track in Bouaké, Korhogo or San-Pédro.
On the Study page, join your class's group in your city (for example "Terminale D, Yamoussoukro"): you ask your questions there, the best answer is marked, and you find the same class in other cities.
After the bac: stay or leave
With your bac, you can carry on in Côte d'Ivoire or go abroad to study. Our article stay or leave after the bac helps you weigh both.
If you are aiming for France, Campus France Côte d'Ivoire accepts applicants who already hold the bac or are in their final year, and asks that your programme choices be consistent with your bac track. The procedure therefore happens during your final year: read our Campus France Côte d'Ivoire guide and the Campus France Côte d'Ivoire 2027 calendar, then test your file with the Campus France simulator (in French), free and anonymous. Outside France, your Ivorian bac is recognised under rules specific to each country: our article on recognition of an African bac abroad explains them. In every case, keep your transcripts and pass certificate somewhere safe, scanned: every application will ask for them.
To fund your studies, the directory lists scholarships open to Ivorians (in French), checked on official websites, with alerts before each deadline. Once you leave, the Ivorian diaspora is waiting in your future city, and our article on Ivorian students in France introduces those already there.

Frequently asked questions
When does the 2027 bac start in Côte d'Ivoire?
The DECO had not yet put the 2027 session calendar online on 2 November 2026. Written papers usually take place in mid-June: 16 to 20 June in 2025, 15 to 19 June in 2026. EPS takes place in late April or early May, and orals a few days before the written papers.
Who organises the bac in Côte d'Ivoire?
The Ministry of National Education's Direction des examens et concours (DECO). It publishes the calendar, runs the BEPC and bac registration platform, announces results and rules on fraud through its national disciplinary commission.
What are the coefficients of the Ivorian bac?
They depend on your track. As of 2 November 2026, the DECO does not publish online a coefficient table that we were able to consult: ask your school, which gets it from the ministry, for your track's table and use it to share out your revision time.
How do I pay the bac exam fees in Côte d'Ivoire?
Online, through the Public Treasury (Trésor Pay), from a mobile phone, before the deadline set by the official calendar. For the 2025 session, payment ran from 21 October to 20 December 2024. Check the 2027 session date on the DECO's website.
Can I apply to Campus France in my final year from Côte d'Ivoire?
Yes. Campus France Côte d'Ivoire accepts bac holders and final-year pupils, and asks for programme choices consistent with the bac track. The visa application, however, waits until you have passed the bac. The 2027 calendar is detailed in our dedicated article.
