Information checked on 2 November 2026.

Campus France Congo has published its 2026-2027 calendar for the intake starting in September 2027, and it leaves a single date to remember for all connected programmes: file submission before 10 December 2026 at 11.59 pm, payment before 12 December. First-year bachelor's, third year, BUT, master's or architecture school, everyone follows the same calendar, which is tighter than the national date of 15 December. This guide follows the route specific to Congo-Brazzaville: the offices in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire, the documents, the 75,000 FCFA paid at BCI, the interview, then the visa at TLScontact. For the general logic of the platform, see also our complete Campus France guide.

Campus France Congo: who does it apply to?

Every Congolese or foreign student living in Congo-Brazzaville who wants to continue their studies in France must go through the "Études en France" procedure. It provides the prior approval without which no study visa application is possible. Campus France Congo distinguishes three procedures.

ProcedureProgrammesNumber of choices
White DAPFirst-year bachelor's at a public university, including the health track (PASS)3 first-year bachelor's, and up to 4 BUT
Yellow DAPArchitecture schools, all levels3 choices at most
Non-DAPSecond and third-year bachelor's, professional bachelor's, master's 1 and 2, BUT, engineering, business and art schools7 choices at most
Pre-consularAdmission obtained outside the platform: BTS, BTSA, CPGE, DCG via Parcoursup, or a non-connected institution-

You can run several procedures at once, a first-year bachelor's and a BUT for example, as long as you meet each deadline. Some non-DAP institutions require a parallel procedure (file, test, interview): check the "Consulter" section of your programme basket.

Campus France Congo welcomes students in two places:

Pointe-NoireInstitut français de Pointe-Noire, avenue Moé Kaat MatouBy appointment booked from your Études en France account

In Brazzaville, ten computers let you create or check your account free of charge. The contact address is brazzaville@campusfrance.org. Every year, the office also runs the Studies and Orientation Forum (FODEO) in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire, with talks, workshops and stands from French and Congolese institutions.

The Campus France Congo procedure in 8 steps

1Build your study project: programme, institution, diploma, career, funding, housing.
2Register online on Études en France with an identity document and a valid email address. Write down your CG number (in the format CGXX-XXXXX): you will need to quote it every time you get in touch.
3Submit your file with an ID photo under 50 KB, your scanned identity document and all transcripts and diplomas: from year 10 for a first-year bachelor's, from the baccalauréat for other levels. Add internship, work or training certificates if you have any.
4Pay the file fee at BCI, when the office asks.
5Take the academic interview after your file is validated.
6Receive replies from institutions, make your final choice and print the prior enrolment approval.
7Apply for the student visa at TLScontact.
8Prepare your departure: Campus France recommends arriving at least 15 days before classes start, and holds pre-departure meetings in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire.

The office points out two limits: processing your file guarantees neither admission, which is up to the institution, nor the visa, which is up to the consulate.

Campus France fees in Congo

The file fee is 75,000 FCFA, non-refundable, payable at any BCI branch. The order matters:

1you submit your file online;
2Campus France Congo expressly asks you to pay, through the platform;
3you pay at BCI quoting your CGXX-XXXXX number, using the payment form published by the office;
4if the payment still does not show as validated three days later, send the receipt to paiement.campusfrance@ifcongo.com with your ID number.

Exempt from this fee: final-year pupils at the French lycées Saint-Exupéry (Brazzaville) and Charlemagne (Pointe-Noire), who are also exempt from the interview, and holders of a scholarship from the French government, the AUF, Erasmus Mundus or the European Union, who must state it in their account. The full budget for leaving is in our article on Campus France fees.

French test: Congolese nationals exempt for first-year bachelor's

The official notice for the prior admission application lists Congo among the countries where French is the sole official language: its nationals do not have to present a TCF for a first-year bachelor's. For a master's or a school, the institution is free to require a certificate. The country-by-country detail is in our article on the Campus France French test.

The Campus France interview in Congo

Once your file is validated, you can book an appointment with an adviser. The interview is a chance to present your academic project, your career plan, your motivation and the quality of your file, to inform the institutions' decision. Campus France Congo advises preparing by answering the step 1 questions and practising with friends and parents. On the day, bring your invitation and an identity document. Our guide to the Campus France interview covers the typical questions.

Replies, final choice and refusal

Institutions reply before 30 April 2027, and the final choice is due before 31 May 2027. From the first positive reply, you can make your choice and print the prior enrolment approval. If all replies are negative, our advice after a Campus France refusal helps you plan the next step.

The student visa from Congo: TLScontact

The application is made online on France-Visas, then the file is lodged by appointment at TLScontact, at the centre you belong to: a Pointe-Noire resident cannot apply in Brazzaville, and vice versa. You can apply three months before the start of the academic year, and waiting times for an appointment can reach two months.

  • Admitted via Études en France: Campus France Congo assigns your TLScontact appointment. Only applicants who have received the booking message go to the office to get it.
  • Admitted to a non-connected institution: you book the appointment yourself on the TLScontact website; if there is no slot, try again later, as new availability is posted regularly.

On the day of the appointment, bring 60,500 FCFA: 33,000 FCFA in visa fees (a reduced rate thanks to the Campus France procedure) and 27,500 FCFA in TLScontact service fees. The office's list includes a passport valid for at least one year and three months, two photos, a birth certificate, the prior enrolment approval, the baccalauréat certificate, proof of funds and proof of accommodation for the first three months.

Watch the amounts: this page of the office still quotes the old resource thresholds. Since 1 August 2026, the minimum required of a foreign student is €877.50 per month. Prepare your file on that basis and check with the French consulate in Brazzaville or Pointe-Noire. Our guide to proving your resources lists accepted evidence, and the one on the student visa application covers the whole file.

Scholarships, budget and preparation

Before paying, the Campus France simulator (in French) places your profile in a few minutes; its thresholds are measured on admitted Beninese students and only give a rough idea for a Congolese applicant. Our directory gathers the scholarships open to Congolese students (in French), including the Eiffel scholarship (in French) for master's, and our overview of scholarships to study in France from sub-Saharan Africa compares the programmes. If you would rather be guided, Compatri offers Campus France coaching (in French): it is a paid service, and the price is given at the first conversation.

Arriving with the Congolese community

You build the file on your own; arrival is easier with people around you. On Compatri, the Congolese diaspora page brings together communities from Congo-Brazzaville city by city, and every 15 August Congo's Independence Day gathers compatriots in the diaspora. Joining the community of your future city is free, even before universities reply. Volunteer mentors from the diaspora also accept connection requests.

Compatri is not a service of Campus France or of the State, and does not replace the official source: only the information from Campus France Congo and the consulate is binding.
