Do you live in Tunisia and aim to start studying in France in September 2027? Everything goes through Campus France Tunisia (the local office of Campus France, the French public agency for international students): the file on the Études en France platform, the fee payment, the French test, the interview at one of the country's three offices, then the visa appointment, which the office books for you. The 2027-2028 campaign opened on 1 October 2026, and its first deadline falls as early as 11 December, four days before the national date. This guide brings together what Campus France Tunisia publishes for this campaign, step by step, with amounts in dinars and the rules specific to Tunisia. For the dates shared by all countries, also keep our Campus France calendar 2027-2028 at hand.

Campus France Tunisia: three offices, one platform

You create your file online, on the Études en France platform, but guidance, in-person payment and the interview take place at one of the country's three Campus France offices (Espaces):

OfficeAddress
Tunis20/22 avenue de Paris, 1000 Tunis
Sousse15 rue Hamed el Ghazali, 4000 Sousse
Sfax09 avenue Habib Bourguiba, 3000 Sfax

Opening hours are listed on the Campus France Tunisia website; check them before you travel, especially during the interview period. Tunisia carries real weight in this procedure: according to Campus France Tunisia, 15,949 Tunisian students were enrolled in French higher education in 2024-2025.

One rule first: one file per applicant. If you already have an account from a previous campaign, pick it up again instead of opening a second one.

The six steps of the Études en France procedure

Campus France Tunisia's official calendar splits the procedure into six stages:

1Prepare your study plan and check the procedure for each programme you target.
2Create and fill in your file on the Études en France platform, from 1 October 2026.
3Submit the file and pay the fee, online or in person at the office, before your track's deadline.
4Attend the interview at the Campus France office.
5Wait for the institutions' answers, which arrive in your online file.
6Confirm your final choice among the acceptances received.

Campus France Tunisia specifies that your basket can hold up to 7 choices, with at most 3 in first-year licence (bachelor's) and 2 in an architecture school. Choose few, but choose well: each choice must make sense given your background.

DAP or non-DAP: the route that sets your deadline

The demande d'admission préalable (DAP, the prior admission request) covers the first year of licence, including the L.AS and PASS tracks (routes into medicine), and the national schools of architecture (ENSA). Everything else is non-DAP (hors DAP): BUT (technology bachelor's), licence 2 and 3, professional licence, master's 1 and 2, engineering and business schools connected to the platform.

Some programmes follow another path:

  • BTS, preparatory classes (CPGE) and DCG: application through Parcoursup, with its own calendar;
  • Art schools: application through CampusArt;
  • Doctorate and work-study (alternance): details on the Campus France Tunisia website;
  • Admission obtained directly from an institution, outside Mon Master: the « Je suis accepté » (I have been accepted) procedure. You create your file, then attend the interview, on average within one to four weeks depending on the time of year.

If you are torn between the platform and a direct application to a school, our article Campus France or direct application compares the two routes.

Campus France Tunisia 2027 dates: the official calendar

Here is the calendar published by Campus France Tunisia for the 2027-2028 academic year:

StepDAP (L1, L.AS, PASS, ENSA)Non-DAP (BUT, L2, L3, master's, schools)
File creationFrom 1 October 2026From 1 October 2026
Submission and paymentUntil 11 December 2026Until 18 December 2026
InterviewUntil 15 March 2027Until 15 March 2027
Institutions' answersUntil 30 April 2027Until 30 April 2027
Final choiceBy 31 May 2027 at the latestBy 31 May 2027 at the latest

Remember 11 December: in Tunisia, the DAP deadline comes four days before the national date of 15 December. And payment is part of submission: a file submitted but unpaid on the deadline is left pending. Aim for late November to keep a margin, as the platform and payments get overloaded in the final days.

Three mistakes to avoid:

1Mixing up the two dates: a licence 1 plan does not benefit from 18 December, which is reserved for non-DAP.
2Paying too early: a payment made before the file is submitted is not accepted.
3Translating at the last minute: transcripts and diplomas in Arabic must be presented at the interview with their French translation; start them in the autumn.

French test: TCF, DELF or DALF

Campus France Tunisia recognises three certifications: the TCF (Test de connaissance du français), the DELF and the DALF (official French language diplomas). The required version depends on your track:

Your planCertification required
L1, L.AS, PASS, architecture schoolTCF with the written expression test, or DELF/DALF
All other applicationsTCF tout public, or DELF/DALF

Holders of a DELF B2 or a DALF C1 or C2 do not need to sit a test again. Other profiles are exempt too, including holders of a French baccalauréat and French government scholarship holders.

To take the test, the Institut français de Tunisie runs seven language centres: Tunis, Sousse, Sfax, El Mourouj 1, Béja, Kébili-Tozeur and Médenine-Tataouine. The Alliances françaises also offer it in other cities. Register early: December to February sessions fill up fast. Our guide to the Campus France French test details the expected levels and how long results remain valid.

Campus France Tunisia fees: 400 dinars

Since 1 August 2025, the application fee has been 400 Tunisian dinars (TND), and the 2026-2027 calendar page repeats this amount for the current campaign. Three rules govern payment:

1Submit your file online first: Campus France Tunisia refuses any payment before submission.
2Pay by card, either online on the Institut français de Tunisie website or in person at your office, in a single transaction.
3Forget cheques and post: cheques have been suspended since 20 January 2025, and neither files nor payments sent by mail are accepted.

This fee covers the processing of your application, interview included. It does not cover the French test, paid at the exam centre, nor the translations of your documents.

The Campus France interview in Tunisia

The interview lasts about twenty minutes, enough time to present and defend your study plan. The adviser looks at your background, your experience and the consistency between your past studies, your choice of programmes and your career plan. Arrive half an hour early with the following originals:

1ID card or passport;
2printed interview invitation;
3TCF, DELF or DALF certificate;
4transcripts and diplomas, with their French translation;
5certificate of enrolment or completion for the current year.

Campus France Tunisia is strict: lateness or a missing document leads to the interview being cancelled, and a missed appointment costs 100 TND to get another one. Some applicants are exempt, such as scholarship holders or participants in an exchange programme between public institutions. To prepare, read the Campus France interview questions in the Maghreb.

Answers, final choice and plan B

Institutions answer in your online file until 30 April 2027, often gradually. You then confirm a single choice, by 31 May 2027 at the latest. A negative answer on all your choices does not close every door: our article on a Campus France refusal and what to do reviews the options to bounce back.

Think about funding from the autumn too: several schemes open applications at the same time as the campaign. Our overview of scholarships to study in France for Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia lists those open to Tunisian applicants. And if France does not accept your file or does not fit your budget, French-speaking Belgium remains a nearby option: see studying in Belgium when you come from the Maghreb.

The student visa from Tunisia: TLScontact, via Campus France

Once your choice is confirmed, you receive the end-of-procedure message. The application for the long-stay student visa (VLS-TS, a visa that serves as a residence permit) then follows a circuit specific to Tunisia:

1The appointment goes through Campus France. Since 1 May 2022, applicants in the Campus France procedure must go through their office to get the filing appointment at TLScontact.
2You fill in the form on France-Visas, which gives you a reference number starting with FRA1.
3You file at TLScontact, in Tunis or in Sfax, according to France-Visas.
4The decision lies with the Consulate General of France in Tunis, the only competent authority.

As for costs, count the visa fee (reduced rate for students who went through Campus France, 50 euros according to the official fee table, converted into dinars at the chancellery rate) and the TLScontact service fee, set at 28 euros per file and non-refundable. A second TLScontact appointment costs an extra 100 TND. Campus France Tunisia announces processing of 15 to 45 days after filing, and advises allowing two months for all visa steps together.

The file must prove resources of at least 877.50 euros per month, the threshold for applications filed since 1 August 2026. Details of documents and steps are in our guide to the French student visa application.

Housing and arrival in France

Look for housing as soon as you are admitted: university residences lack places at the start of the year, and housing found early also makes the visa file simpler. Without a guarantor in France, the Visale guarantee from Action Logement can stand in.

On arrival, one compulsory step remains: validating your VLS-TS online, on the website of the administration for foreigners in France (ANEF), within three months. You need an email address, your visa details, your arrival date, your address in France and a bank card for the tax. The VLS-TS then lets you travel within the Schengen area and work up to 964 hours a year, about 20 hours a week.

Arriving when you already know someone

You prepare the file alone; settling in, much less so. On Compatri, the Tunisian community in your future city brings together people who already study and work there: they know which neighbourhood to pick, which bank opens an account quickly, where to meet the first weekend. Start with the Tunisians in France page, join your city's community even before you have your visa, and follow the « Étudiants africains » (African students) group, where people exchange on grants, housing and mutual aid between campuses.

Compatri is not a service of Campus France or of the State, and does not replace the official source: the dates, amounts and instructions that bind you remain those of Campus France Tunisia and France-Visas.
