Information checked on 6 October 2026.
Campus France Cameroon opened the campaign for the 2027 intake on 1 October 2026. Two dates drive everything that follows: 15 December 2026 to submit a file for the first year of a licence (bachelor's) or an architecture school, and 1 February 2027 for everything else, from second-year bachelor's to master's. A Cameroonian specificity also changes the usual order: you pay the procedure fee at TLScontact before submitting your file, after a first check by Campus France (the French public agency for international students). This guide walks through the whole journey: who it concerns, where the offices are, which French test to take if you come from the anglophone system, how much to pay in FCFA, how the interview works, when answers arrive, then the visa, housing and arrival. For the general logic, valid in every country, start with our complete Campus France guide.
Campus France Cameroon: who must follow the procedure?
Campus France Cameroon serves pupils and students from outside the European Economic Area who live in Cameroon and want to pursue higher education in France. Its website says it in capital letters: the procedure is compulsory. It covers:
- applications to first and second year, BUT (technology bachelor's), licence, master's, grande école master's and engineering degree;
- admissions obtained outside the Études en France platform (BTS, preparatory classes, doctorate), which go through the so-called « pre-consular » procedure;
- invitations to an academic internship and notices to sit an exam;
- holders of a French baccalaureate admitted via Parcoursup (France's national admissions platform).
A simplified procedure exists for graduates of the French lycées in Cameroon, scholarship holders of the French government, the AUF (Agence universitaire de la Francophonie) or the IRD (French research institute for development), joint-supervision doctoral students and some competitive-exam winners. Applicants under 18 on 31 December of the year follow a specific visa procedure.
The flow is substantial. According to Campus France's Chiffres clés 2025 (key figures), 10,880 Cameroonian students were enrolled in France in 2023-2024, 10th among foreign nationalities, up 11% in a year. The country fact sheet published in October 2025 counts 12,291 in 2024-2025: 43% at university, 26% in business schools and 20% in engineering schools.
Campus France offices in Cameroon: Yaoundé and Douala
Campus France Cameroon works with the Institut français du Cameroun and welcomes applicants in two offices, in Yaoundé and Douala.
| City | Institut français du Cameroun | Campus France email |
|---|---|---|
| Yaoundé | 127, avenue du Président Ahmadou Ahidjo | campusfrance.yde@ifcameroun.com |
| Douala | Boulevard de la Liberté | campusfrance.dla@ifcameroun.com |
The call centre answers on 686 133 333, which Campus France presents as its only number. For anything about your file, the built-in inbox of your Études en France account remains the official channel: Campus France sends corrections, authorisations and notices there. Information sessions at the Institut français are free and strongly advised, as is the SAPEF (fair for the promotion of French studies), where you meet institutions. Personalised support for a flat fee, whose details have yet to be published, will take place by appointment at the offices, or online for applicants living outside Yaoundé and Douala.
The Études en France procedure in 7 steps in Cameroon
The Campus France Cameroon website, updated on 7 October 2025, describes seven steps. The order differs from most countries: checking and payment come before submission.
To get the payment authorisation, fill in at least the « academic history and diplomas » sections and the basket, with at least two connected programmes, then write to Campus France through the file's inbox choosing the subject « RDV paiement frais de procédure » (appointment to pay the procedure fee). No intermediary can speed anything up: Campus France Cameroon points out that only its own services handle files.

Watch the payment window: it runs until 16 February, but for L1 the file must be submitted before 15 December, and payment comes before submission. For the DAP, aim to pay in October or November. The month-by-month detail, with a comparison with the previous cycle, is in our Campus France Cameroon 2027 calendar.
DAP or non-DAP: which route for your level?
Campus France Cameroon distinguishes two procedures:
- the DAP (demande d'admission préalable, the prior admission request) concerns current or future secondary-school graduates applying for a first-year licence, a first year in health studies or an architecture school; the baccalaureate, the brevet de technicien and the GCE A-level give access to it;
- non-DAP (HDAP) covers L2, L3, professional licences, BUT, master's, engineering degrees, schools recruiting by competitive exam, and admissions obtained outside the platform.
BTS, preparatory classes and the DCG (accounting degree) go through Parcoursup, from January 2027. Programmes in art, design, music, fashion or 3D go through the Campus Art platform from October 2026. Once admitted through one of these routes, you come back to Études en France for the pre-consular procedure. For the national logic, read DAP, non-DAP or Parcoursup: which procedure.
French test: the case of anglophone school-leavers
Cameroon has two education systems, and Campus France takes this into account. The published rule fits in three points:
A school-leaver from the francophone system therefore has no TCF-DAP to take for an L1. Prices and session dates do not appear on the public pages we consulted: ask the Institut français language-course department, and register early, because results must arrive before files are examined. The comparison of tests is in our article on the Campus France French test.
Campus France Cameroon fees: 101,000 FCFA
| Item | Amount | Where to pay |
|---|---|---|
| Campus France procedure fee | 85,000 FCFA | At TLScontact, by appointment |
| TLScontact fee | 16,000 FCFA | Online |
| Total | 101,000 FCFA | Non-refundable |
Keep the payment receipt until your visa application. Ignore the figure of 75,000 FCFA still circulating: it appears on old pages of the site, whereas the seven-step page, updated in October 2025, and the pre-consular page state 85,000 FCFA plus 16,000 FCFA. The full budget, tuition included (2,902 € a year for a licence and 3,950 € for a master's in public institutions), is in our article on Campus France fees.
On funding, the French embassy in Cameroon opened a support campaign in 2025 that included mobility grants for a master's or doctorate and high-level scientific stays; the Franco-Cameroonian research partnership Bantou also funds mobility for researchers and doctoral students. Scholarship holders of the French government, the AUF, the IRD or Erasmus Mundus follow a lighter procedure. The dates of the next campaign are still to be confirmed on the Campus France Cameroon website.
The academic interview
The interview takes place between 12 October 2026 and 1 March 2027, with a Campus France adviser, once your file is declared complete and submitted. The adviser looks at your academic history, the quality of your studies, your level of French, the file's coherence, local study options and your career plan. Be ready to explain why France, why this programme rather than its equivalent in Cameroon, and what you will do afterwards.
The interview leads to an opinion; only the institutions' academic committees decide on admission. Recurring questions are broken down in our article on the Campus France interview.
Answers, final choice and plan B
Institutions answer until 30 April 2027. If you receive one or more acceptances, confirm your final choice by 31 May 2027 at the latest in your account, then download the acceptance certificate, an essential visa document. This year, non-DAP follows the same dates as the DAP; in the previous cycle, institutions had until 15 May to answer non-DAP applications.
No admission? Other routes exist: non-connected schools, a new application next year, another country. They are set out in Campus France refusal: what to do. If you are torn between the platform and a school that recruits directly, our comparison Campus France or direct application helps you decide.
After admission: visa, housing, arrival
In Cameroon, you do not pick your visa appointment yourself: Campus France assigns it to you, at one of the three TLScontact centres in Yaoundé, Douala or Garoua. Each student is entitled to one appointment only, and a missed appointment ends the procedure: only request it with a complete file. The long-stay student visa costs 50 €, and you must show at least 877.50 € a month in resources for any application submitted since 1 August 2026. Documents, consular districts, timeframes and refusals: everything is in our guide to the French student visa from Cameroon.
Start early on housing: our article on CROUS housing for international students explains the steps and the fallback options. To estimate living costs, our student budget in Paris, Lyon and Lille compares rent, transport and meals. Once in France, you will have three months to validate your visa online.
Arriving with a network of compatriots
The file is individual, but arrival is better prepared with those who have already been through it. On Compatri, the Cameroonian community of your future city brings together students, young professionals and settled families: you can join it now from the page Cameroonians in France, even before universities answer. Our article on Cameroonian students in France presents the associations and gatherings, including the 20 May national day. The « Étudiants africains » (African students) group also brings together, from city to city, students who talk about scholarships, housing and mutual help between campuses.
Compatri is not a service of Campus France or the French state, and does not replace the official source: only information from Campus France Cameroon and the consular services is binding on you.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Campus France Cameroon deadline for the 2027 intake?
The file must be submitted before 15 December 2026 for a first-year licence or an architecture school, and before 1 February 2027 for L2, L3, BUT, master's and engineering degrees. Because payment at TLScontact comes before submission, start several weeks ahead of those dates. Answers arrive until 30 April 2027.
How much does Campus France cost in Cameroon?
101,000 FCFA in total: 85,000 FCFA for the Campus France procedure fee, paid at TLScontact by appointment, and 16,000 FCFA in TLScontact fees paid online. These fees are non-refundable. The 75,000 FCFA figure you may still read appears on old pages and is out of date.
Do anglophone school-leavers need a French test for Campus France Cameroon?
Yes for a first year at university: current or future GCE A-level holders must take the TCF-DAP without the speaking section, run by the Institut français du Cameroun in Yaoundé and Douala. For other levels, each institution sets its own requirement. At any level, transcripts from studies in English must be translated at the Ministry of Higher Education in Yaoundé or the Centre linguistique de Bonanjo in Douala.
Where are the Campus France offices in Cameroon?
Campus France Cameroon has two offices, in Yaoundé and Douala, linked to the Institut français du Cameroun. You can reach them by email (campusfrance.yde@ifcameroun.com and campusfrance.dla@ifcameroun.com), through the call centre on 686 133 333 and through your Études en France account inbox. Applicants living elsewhere can get support online.
How do you get a visa appointment after Campus France in Cameroon?
Campus France assigns it, after your final choice or your pre-consular procedure, at a TLScontact centre in Yaoundé, Douala or Garoua. Each student is entitled to one appointment, and a missed appointment ends the procedure. So only request it once all your documents are ready.
