How it works
It takes about four minutes to get through. The longest part is identity verification — which is precisely what holds the rest together.
Your country of origin and your current city are enough. You never publish your address: Compatri thinks in neighbourhoods, not street numbers.
One ID document, checked once. That's what guarantees the people you meet are real — and keeps scammers out.
A community is a country and a city: Beninese in Cotonou, Cameroonians in Brussels. Not a group of a thousand who'll never meet.
Nearby members, ongoing requests for help and upcoming meetups open up at once. The rest happens off-screen.
Sign-up, communities and events are free. The service lives on subscriptions, never on selling your data.
Nobody sees your exact position. Other members see a point offset by about 300 metres — enough for a neighbourhood, not a street. You can also opt out of proximity search entirely.
Write to us: the country list grows on request, and a community opens as soon as a handful of members ask for it in the same city.
Change your city in your profile and Compatri suggests the matching community. You can stay in the old one — many keep a foot in the city they left.
Signing up is free and takes four minutes.
