Campus France Gabon has published its calendar for the 2027-2028 intake: the Études en France platform has been open since 1 October 2026, and two deadlines split applicants. 10 December 2026 for first-year bachelor's and architecture, 8 January 2027 for second and third-year bachelor's, master's and connected schools. This guide follows the route specific to Gabon: the office at the Institut français in Libreville, the documents to scan, the 85,000 FCFA paid via Moov Money, the interview, then the visa at TLScontact. For the general logic of the platform, see also our complete Campus France guide.

Campus France Gabon: who does it apply to?

The procedure is for secondary school pupils and students living in Gabon, Gabonese or not, who are aiming for one of the roughly 350 institutions connected to Études en France. The route depends on your diploma and the programme you want.

Your situationProcedure
Gabonese baccalauréat (or a diploma from a country outside the enlarged European Union), for a first-year bachelor's, PASS or an architecture school"Je suis candidat" application on Études en France (DAP)
Second or third-year bachelor's, professional bachelor's, master's, BUT, connected schools"Je suis candidat" application on Études en France (non-DAP)
BTS, BTSA, preparatory classes (CPGE)Parcoursup, then "Je suis accepté" on Études en France
Non-connected private institutionDirect application, then "Je suis accepté"
French baccalauréat obtained less than 4 years ago, for a first yearParcoursup, then the pre-consular procedure
French baccalauréat obtained more than 4 years agoÉtudes en France, like a Gabonese baccalauréat holder

For a January 2027 start, only schools that are members of the CGE or the CTI are concerned, and the "Je suis accepté" file is submitted one month before the start.

The Campus France office in Gabon

Campus France Gabon welcomes applicants at the Institut français du Gabon in Libreville, Tuesday to Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm. It answers by email at campusfrance.orientationplus@gmail.com, through the contact form on its website, and posts announcements on its Facebook page and TikTok account. The office also runs information sessions on the "Je suis candidat" procedure: follow those two channels for the dates.

The Campus France Gabon procedure step by step

1Create your account on Études en France: click "je m'inscris", choose the Campus France Gabon office, then fill in the "personal information" and "background and diplomas" sections. Write down your GA number (in the format GAXX-XXXXX). If you already have an account from a previous year, do not create a second one.
2Fill in your background: in final year, one line each for year 10, year 11, final year and the baccalauréat in progress; at university, one line for the baccalauréat and then one per year of higher education.
3Scan your documents: three report cards per completed year of secondary school, two semesters per year of higher education. The office stresses scan quality, as it is the first image the university will have of you.
4Choose your programmes: under DAP, three first-year bachelor's and up to four BUT or first-year programmes at connected schools; outside DAP, up to seven choices (BUT, connected schools, second and third-year bachelor's, master's).
5Submit your file before the deadline. Campus France Gabon puts it bluntly: a file that is not submitted registers no application at all.
6Pay, only after the payment request (see below), then correct and resubmit if the office sends your file back.
7Take the academic interview, when invited.
8Follow the replies and make your final choice.

Four warnings from the office are worth rereading before you submit. Apply only to connected institutions: the others do not receive your file. Check where the programme takes place (Réunion and French Guiana are not in mainland France). For an IAE, the IAE score is compulsory, and the tests are held at the Institut français. Finally, the level you aim for must match the results you will have in June 2027: if you are in the third year of a bachelor's now, you can aim for a first-year master's.

For Parcoursup (CPGE, BTS, BTSA), applications run from January to March 2027 on parcoursup.fr, then the "Je suis accepté" file is submitted on Études en France from 1 May to 31 August 2027, and the interview takes place from 1 May to 30 September 2027. Students admitted to non-connected institutions follow the same dates. Gabon therefore closes first-year bachelor's five days earlier than the national date of 15 December: do not rely on another country's dates. The full comparison is in our Campus France calendar 2027-2028.

French test: Gabonese nationals exempt for first-year bachelor's

The official notice for the prior admission application lists Gabon among the countries where French is the sole official language. Its nationals therefore do not have to present a TCF for a first-year bachelor's. For a master's or a school, the institution may still require one: read the prerequisites of each programme. The country-by-country detail is in our article on the Campus France French test.

The Campus France interview in Gabon

After payment and validation of your file, you receive an invitation to the academic interview. It lasts about fifteen minutes. You present your study project and your motivation, showing that you have thought it through. Campus France Gabon is reassuring: there are no trick questions. The day before, reread your file and your motivation, and go back over the websites of the institutions you chose. Our guide to the Campus France interview covers the typical questions.

Replies, final choice and refusal

Institutions reply until 30 April 2027, and the final choice is due before 31 May 2027. According to the national Campus France website, no reply before 31 May counts as a refusal. To confirm an electronic acceptance, choose the institution in your account and submit: the acceptance does not count until the file is submitted. Check your account often, as the office may request a missing document there (passport, proof that you passed the current year). If all replies are negative, our advice after a Campus France refusal helps you plan the next step.

The student visa from Gabon: TLScontact

Once your file is complete and the interview validated, an end-of-procedure message lets you request a visa appointment. In Gabon, this appointment is requested only through the messaging service of your Études en France account, and TLScontact confirms the date and time by text message. Scholarship holders go through the ANBG (Gabon's national scholarship agency), which books their appointment. Then download the prior enrolment certificate and fill in the application on France-Visas.

Only the French consulate general in Gabon decides on the visa: Campus France does not advise on the consular file. Arrange housing and funds early: the resource threshold for foreign students is €877.50 per month for applications filed since 1 August 2026. Our guide to proving your resources lists accepted evidence, and the one on the student visa application covers the whole file.

Scholarships, budget and preparation

Before paying anything, the Campus France simulator (in French) places your profile in a few minutes; its thresholds are measured on admitted Beninese students and only give a rough idea for a Gabonese applicant. For funding, our directory lists the scholarships open to Gabonese students (in French), including the Eiffel scholarship (in French) for master's, and our overview of scholarships to study in France from sub-Saharan Africa compares the programmes. If you would rather be guided, Compatri offers Campus France coaching (in French): it is a paid service, and the price is given at the first conversation.

Arriving with the Gabonese community

You build the file on your own; arrival is easier with people around you. On Compatri, the Gabonese diaspora page brings together Gabonese communities city by city, and every 17 August Gabon's Independence Day gathers compatriots in the diaspora. Joining the community of your future city is free, even before universities reply. Volunteer mentors from the diaspora, who have studied in France themselves, also accept connection requests.

Compatri is not a service of Campus France or of the State, and does not replace the official source: only the information from Campus France Gabon and the consulate is binding.
