Information checked on 2 November 2026.
Nigeria falls under the Études en France procedure: every student living there who aims for a connected institution applies on this platform, attends an interview in Abuja or Lagos, then prepares the visa the same way. A difficulty specific to Nigeria: as of 2 November 2026, Campus France Nigeria has not yet published its calendar for the 2027 intake on its website, which still shows the previous cycle. That cycle closed on 1 December, two weeks before the national date. This guide gathers what is published: the two offices, the fees in naira, the English-taught programmes, the interview and the visa at TLS. For the general logic of the platform, see our complete guide to Campus France.
Campus France Nigeria: who does it apply to?

| Master's at a connected institution | Application on Études en France, 7 programmes maximum |

Studying in English or in French?
Campus France Nigeria answers clearly: you can study in France without speaking French. More than 1,300 programmes are taught in English, mostly at master's level. Conversely, a DELF B2 lets you apply to all programmes, in English as well as in French.
| English-taught programme | French-taught programme | |
|---|---|---|
| Levels | Mostly master's | Bachelor's and master's |
| French test | No | Yes, generally B2 |
| Office advice | Learn at least basic French for daily life | Prepare the test early |
The recognised tests are the TCF (valid two years), the TEF (scored from 0 to 699) and the DELF or DALF, diplomas with no expiry date. You prepare them at the Institut français in Abuja or at one of the country's Alliances françaises: Lagos, Maiduguri, Jos, Kaduna, Ilorin, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Enugu. For an English-taught programme, the institution may ask for an English test: our comparison IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo helps you choose. For the French route, see our article on the French test for Campus France.
The calendar: what is published, and what is not
The Campus France Nigeria procedure page still shows the calendar for the 2026 intake. It gives the office's rhythm, but does not apply to 2027.
| Step | Previous cycle (2026 intake) | National markers 2027-2028 |
|---|---|---|
| Platform opens | 1 October 2025 | 1 October 2026 |
| Submission deadline | 1 December 2025 | 15 December 2026 for the DAP (first-year bachelor's) |
| Interviews | 1 November 2025 to 1 March 2026 | Not published |
| Institutions' decisions | 30 April 2026 | 30 April 2027 |
| Choice of institution | 31 May 2026 | 31 May 2027 |
| Visa | May to July 2026 | Not published |
What should you do? 15 December 2026 is the national DAP deadline, and an office may close earlier: last year, Campus France Nigeria closed on 1 December. Submit your file before 1 December 2026 to be safe, and watch the office's website and social media. We will add the 2027 dates as soon as they are published. The comparison with other countries is in our Campus France 2027-2028 calendar.

Campus France fees in Nigeria
| Situation | Fee |
|---|---|
| Application through Études en France, before the interview | NGN 80,000 |
| Already admitted: pre-visa procedure | NGN 50,000, non-refundable even if the visa is refused |
Some scholarship holders are exempt, others pay a reduced amount. Both amounts appear on undated Campus France Nigeria pages: confirm them with the office before paying, and never pay an intermediary. The full departure budget is in our article on Campus France fees.
The Campus France interview in Nigeria
The interview takes place at the office for your region, Abuja or Lagos. It covers your background, your study project and your career plan. Bring the originals of your documents. Our guide to the Campus France interview details the typical questions.
Admitted: the pre-visa procedure
Every student admitted to a French institution for more than three months creates an Études en France account before applying for a visa. Campus France Nigeria gives a precise sequence:
Start the process no more than three months before the programme begins, and enter your current address to be assigned the nearest office.
The student visa from Nigeria: TLS
The application is filled in on France-Visas, then submitted at TLS in Abuja or Lagos, as Campus France Nigeria states. The decision rests entirely with the French consular services. Prepare proof of your resources early with our guide to proving your resources, and the whole file with the one on the student visa application.
Scholarships for Nigerians
For the 2025 intake, the French embassy offered a France Excellence scholarship for a master's in management: under 30, Nigerian nationality and residence, bachelor's or HND in management, national service (NYSC) completed, no French level required. It covered travel, a monthly allowance and healthcare, not tuition fees. The 2027 call has not been published. The office reminds applicants that applying is free and that no intermediary is mandated.
What remains is the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship (in French), put forward by the French institution, and the French embassy scholarships (in French). Our directory of scholarships open to Nigerians (in French) also lists programmes outside France, with email alerts before each deadline, and our overview of scholarships to study in France from sub-Saharan Africa compares them.
Preparing your departure with Compatri
The Campus France simulator (in French) places your profile against admitted applicants, free of charge; its thresholds were measured on Beninese applicants and only give an order of magnitude for Nigeria. The Campus France support service (in French) is a paid service, whose price is given at the first exchange. The diaspora mentors answer questions as volunteers.
In France, the Nigerian diaspora page brings communities together city by city, and every 1 October Nigeria's Independence Day gathers compatriots. For the other English- and Portuguese-speaking countries, see our guide studying in France from English- and Portuguese-speaking Africa.
Compatri is not a Campus France or government service, and does not replace the official source: only the information from Campus France Nigeria, the embassy and the consulate is binding.
