Campus France Ghana opened the 2027-2028 intake on 1 October 2026. Two deadlines split the applicants: 15 December 2026 at 6 pm for first-year bachelor's, and 8 January 2027 at midnight for bachelor's years 2 and 3 and master's. Ghana falls under the mandatory Études en France procedure: the application, the interview and the visa preparation all go through the same platform. This guide follows the route specific to Ghana: the Accra and Kumasi offices, the choice between an English-taught and a French-taught programme, the 700 GHS fee, the interview, then the visa at VFS. For the general logic of the platform, see our complete guide to Campus France.
Campus France Ghana: who does it apply to?
Every applicant living in Ghana goes through the Études en France platform, which connects 309 French institutions according to Campus France Ghana. Two procedures coexist.
| Your project | Procedure | Possible choices |
|---|---|---|
| French-taught first-year bachelor's, PASS and L.AS (first year of health studies), architecture at all levels | DAP (preliminary admission request) | 3 programmes |
| Bachelor's years 2 and 3, master's | Outside DAP | 7 programmes |
Three cases fall outside this pattern. A national of a European Union country does not use Études en France. An institution not connected to the platform is applied to on its own website. Art programmes have their own procedure and dates, managed by Campus Art. In every case, an admission obtained elsewhere comes back to Études en France for the pre-consular procedure, which prepares the visa.

Studying in English or in French?
This is Ghana's real specificity. You can aim for an English-taught programme, without speaking French, or a French-taught programme, with a language test.
| French-taught programme | English-taught programme | |
|---|---|---|
| Language test | Mandatory: B2 in the TCF or DELF/DALF, or 400/699 in the TEF for the DAP | No French test; check the institution's English requirements |
| Motivation letter and CV | In French | In English |
| Translation of diplomas and transcripts | Official French translation mandatory | Not needed if the documents are already in English |
For the DAP, an applicant taking the TCF tout public must add the written expression module; Campus France Ghana also advises it for applicants outside the DAP. Some programmes require a level above B2. Test centres, dates and prices are published by the Alliance française d'Accra. For translations, the office mentions the Alliance française d'Accra, the Alliance française de Kumasi and the University of Ghana Transbureau.
An English-taught programme requires no French test, but the institution may ask for proof of English: our comparison IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo helps you choose. For the French route, see our article on the French test for Campus France.
Campus France Ghana dates 2027-2028
| Date | DAP (first-year bachelor's, health, architecture) | Outside DAP (bachelor's years 2 and 3, master's) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 October 2026 | Études en France opens | Études en France opens |
| 15 December 2026, 6 pm | Submission deadline | - |
| 8 January 2027, midnight | - | Submission deadline |
| 30 April 2027 | Institutions' answers | Answers and admission offers |
| 31 May 2027 | Acceptance of a single offer | Acceptance of a single offer |
An institution connected to the platform no longer receives files after the deadline. Submitting the day before is risky: Campus France Ghana first validates your file and may send it back for corrections. The comparison with other countries is in our Campus France 2027-2028 calendar.
The Campus France Ghana procedure in 7 steps
The documents required:
- a valid ID: the passport will be needed for the visa; a Ghanaian may use the Ghana Card or the Voter's ID for the application; a non-Ghanaian adds proof of legal residence in Ghana;
- a passport photo, no selfies;
- an up-to-date CV, studies before work experience, in the language of instruction;
- official transcripts and certificates from senior high school onwards, scanned as PDFs. Unofficial transcripts are refused; a final-year applicant sends the transcripts first and the certificate later.
Campus France fees in Ghana: 700 GHS
The Études en France fee is 700 GHS, paid after the file is validated. For the 2027-2028 intake, Campus France Ghana asks for a cash deposit at Société Générale Ghana, Osu branch (Accra):
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Account name | Institut français du Ghana |
| Account number | 60000338096-8 |
| SWIFT code | SSEBGHAC |
| Description | EEF number, then full name of the applicant |
Ask the bank for the transaction number. If a relative pays for you, your name and number must appear on the receipt. Then declare the payment on the platform and email the receipt to eefghana@campusfrance.org with the subject "EEF receipt, EEF number, full name". The fee is non-refundable: it pays for processing the file, not for admission. The full departure budget is in our article on Campus France fees.
The Campus France interview in Ghana
Once the payment is validated, you receive the date, time and venue of the interview by email. It lasts 25 to 30 minutes and covers three points: your background, the reasons for your programme choices and your career plan. Bring the originals of your documents. Our guide to the Campus France interview details the typical questions.
Admitted without going through the platform
An applicant admitted directly by an institution, or by an unconnected institution, still goes through Études en France: this is the pre-consular procedure. They create an account, enter the institution and programme they were admitted to, upload their documents, pay the same 700 GHS, then book a pre-consular interview with Campus France Ghana. French government or European Union scholarship holders and French baccalauréat holders are exempt from the fee.
The student visa from Ghana: VFS Global
After the interview and the acceptance of your offer, the long-stay visa application takes three steps:
According to Campus France Ghana, the student visa fee is then €50, payable in cedis only, at the embassy, on the day of the appointment. The office usually counts two to three weeks of processing and advises applying one to three months before departure. Accommodation is not required at the pre-consular interview, but it is before the embassy appointment. Only the consulate decides on the visa; prepare proof of your resources early with our guide to proving your resources, and the whole file with the one on the student visa application.
Scholarships: what is open in 2027
Campus France Ghana has announced it: the French embassy's master's scholarship programme is not launched for the 2026-2027 year (page updated on 6 July 2026). What remains is the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship (in French), put forward by the French institution and not by the applicant, and the French embassy scholarships (in French), whose next session the office will announce. Our directory of scholarships open to Ghanaians (in French) also lists programmes outside France, with email alerts before each deadline. Our overview of scholarships to study in France from sub-Saharan Africa compares the options.
Preparing your file with Compatri
The Campus France simulator (in French) places your profile against admitted applicants, free of charge. Its thresholds were measured on Beninese applicants: for Ghana, they give an order of magnitude, not a decision. If you want an adviser to review your file, the Campus France support service (in French) is a paid service, whose price is given at the first exchange. The diaspora mentors answer, as volunteers, the questions of those who follow in their footsteps.
Once there, the Ghanaian diaspora page brings communities together city by city, and every 6 March Ghana's Independence Day gathers compatriots in the diaspora. For the other English- and Portuguese-speaking countries, see our guide studying in France from English- and Portuguese-speaking Africa.
Compatri is not a Campus France or government service, and does not replace the official source: only the information from Campus France Ghana, the embassy and the consulate is binding.
