Zimbabwe diaspora around the world

According to the United Nations, 1,510,000 people from Zimbabwe live abroad.

However, the figure counts migrants, not their children born abroad. The real diaspora is therefore larger.

1,070,000 people from Zimbabwe live in South Africa, 133,000 the United Kingdom, and 101,000 Mozambique.

Together, these three countries therefore account for about 86% of the diaspora.

Each country has its own page, with the cities, communities and meetups there.

By continent, the diaspora counts 1,310,000 people in Africa, 134,000 Europe, and 56,300 Oceania.

For each continent, a page also gathers the countries and cities where it lives.

Other countries in Africa also have their diaspora on Compatri: Egypt, Sudan, Morocco, South Sudan, and DR Congo. Each page gathers its countries of residence, its cities and its national day.

Compatri brings diasporas together where they live. First, you choose the community of your city. Then you discover what its members organise: meals, parties, afterworks or mutual aid. Finally, you message compatriots who share your interests.

You can also host your own meetup: a meal, an outing or a party. It then appears to members of your city, and you follow sign-ups from your account.

Your exact location never appears: other members only see an approximate area. In addition, joining a community and attending events costs nothing.

Every April 18, the national day brings the Zimbabwe diaspora together. Wherever the diaspora lives, communities also organise concerts, meals and gatherings.
