South Sudan diaspora around the world

According to the United Nations, 3,170,000 people from South Sudan live abroad.

However, the figure counts migrants, not their children born abroad. The real diaspora is therefore larger.

1,510,000 people from South Sudan live in Sudan, 924,000 Uganda, and 444,000 Ethiopia.

Together, these three countries therefore account for about 91% of the diaspora.

Each country has its own page, with the cities, communities and meetups there.

By continent, the diaspora counts 3,140,000 people in Africa, 20,600 Asia, and 9,690 Oceania.

For each continent, a page also gathers the countries and cities where it lives.

Every July 9, the national day brings the South Sudan diaspora together. Wherever the diaspora lives, communities also organise concerts, meals and gatherings.
