Slovenia diaspora around the world

According to the United Nations, 73,600 people from Slovenia live abroad.

However, the figure counts migrants, not their children born abroad. The real diaspora is therefore larger.

25,700 people from Slovenia live in Austria, 17,600 Croatia, and 9,120 Serbia.

Together, these three countries therefore account for about 71% of the diaspora.

Each country has its own page, with the cities, communities and meetups there.

By continent, the diaspora counts 61,700 people in Europe, 6,410 the Americas, and 5,480 Oceania.

For each continent, a page also gathers the countries and cities where it lives.

Other countries in Europe also have their diaspora on Compatri: Ukraine, Russia, United Kingdom, Romania, and Poland. Each page gathers its countries of residence, its cities and its national day.

Compatri brings diasporas together where they live. First, you choose the community of your city. Then you discover what its members organise: meals, parties, afterworks or mutual aid. Finally, you message compatriots who share your interests.

You can also host your own meetup: a meal, an outing or a party. It then appears to members of your city, and you follow sign-ups from your account.

Your exact location never appears: other members only see an approximate area. In addition, joining a community and attending events costs nothing.

Every June 25, the national day brings the Slovenia diaspora together. Wherever the diaspora lives, communities also organise concerts, meals and gatherings.
