🇨🇩 DR Congo
People from DR Congo in France meet here, city by city. Each community is a neighbourhood, not a crowd, so if yours is missing, start it.
According to the United Nations, 120,000 people from the DR Congo live in France.
Therefore France ranks number 5 among the destinations of the DR Congo diaspora.
In total, 2,090,000 people from DR Congo live abroad, and about 6% of them live in France.
However, the figure counts migrants, not their children born here. The real community is therefore larger.
On Compatri, people from DR Congo already meet in Paris.
Each community brings together members of the same city, so you meet neighbours rather than a crowd.
There, the largest diasporas also come from Algeria, Morocco, Portugal, Tunisia, and Italy, according to the UN. Each one has its own page on Compatri, with its cities and meetups.
Compatri brings diasporas together where they live. First, you choose the community of your city. Then you discover what its members organise: meals, parties, afterworks or mutual aid. Finally, you message compatriots who share your interests.
You can also host your own meetup: a meal, an outing or a party. It then appears to members of your city, and you follow sign-ups from your account.
Your exact location never appears: other members only see an approximate area. In addition, joining a community and attending events costs nothing.
Every June 30, the national day brings the DR Congo diaspora together. Locally too, communities organise concerts, meals and gatherings.
According to the UN, about 120,000 people from DR Congo live in France. Their children born here do not count in this figure.
