The UN does not publish a precise figure for people from Papua New Guinea in Europe. Still, the diaspora gathers here too, and Compatri follows its communities city by city.
No community for people from Papua New Guinea exists in Europe on Compatri yet. However, one first member is enough to open one in their city.
As soon as a community starts, its meetups show up on the events page, with the date, the venue and the number of attendees.
There, the largest diasporas also come from Morocco, Turkey, Kazakhstan, India, and Syria, according to the UN. Each one has its own page on Compatri, with its cities and meetups.
Compatri brings diasporas together where they live. First, you choose the community of your city. Then you discover what its members organise: meals, parties, afterworks or mutual aid. Finally, you message compatriots who share your interests.
You can also host your own meetup: a meal, an outing or a party. It then appears to members of your city, and you follow sign-ups from your account.
Your exact location never appears: other members only see an approximate area. In addition, joining a community and attending events costs nothing.
Every September 16, the national day brings the Papua New Guinea diaspora together. Locally too, communities organise concerts, meals and gatherings.
Elsewhere, the Papua New Guinea diaspora also lives in Australia. Each country has its own page, with its cities and meetups.
The UN does not publish a figure for this pair of countries. However, Compatri communities give a city-by-city picture.
Communities start where members sign up. If your city is still missing, suggest it: a community often begins with a handful of neighbours.
Join the community of your city on Compatri, then attend the meetups its members organise. You can also host your own event.
According to the UN, the largest ones come from Morocco, Turkey, Kazakhstan, India, and Syria.
Papua New Guinea Independence Day falls on September 16. In Europe too, the diaspora celebrates it every year.
No. Joining your community, discovering nearby members and attending events stays free. The Starter and Advanced plans only add features to go further.
