🇨🇳 China
People from China in Taiwan meet here, city by city. Each community is a neighbourhood, not a crowd, so if yours is missing, start it.
According to the United Nations, 250,000 people from China live in Taiwan.
Therefore Taiwan ranks number 7 among the destinations of the China diaspora.
In total, 8,760,000 people from China live abroad, and about 3% of them live in Taiwan.
However, the figure counts migrants, not their children born here. The real community is therefore larger.
No community for people from China exists in Taiwan on Compatri yet. However, one first member is enough to open one in their city.
As soon as a community starts, its meetups show up on the events page, with the date, the venue and the number of attendees.
Compatri follows cities such as Taipei, and each one can host its community.
There, the largest diasporas also come from Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia, according to the UN. Each one has its own page on Compatri, with its cities and meetups.
Compatri brings diasporas together where they live. First, you choose the community of your city. Then you discover what its members organise: meals, parties, afterworks or mutual aid. Finally, you message compatriots who share your interests.
You can also host your own meetup: a meal, an outing or a party. It then appears to members of your city, and you follow sign-ups from your account.
Your exact location never appears: other members only see an approximate area. In addition, joining a community and attending events costs nothing.
Every October 1, the national day brings the China diaspora together. Locally too, communities organise concerts, meals and gatherings.
According to the UN, about 250,000 people from China live in Taiwan. Their children born here do not count in this figure.
Communities start where members sign up. If your city is still missing, suggest it: a community often begins with a handful of neighbours.
Join the community of your city on Compatri, then attend the meetups its members organise. You can also host your own event.
According to the UN, the largest ones come from Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia.
China National Day falls on October 1. In Taiwan too, the diaspora celebrates it every year.
No. Joining your community, discovering nearby members and attending events stays free. The Starter and Advanced plans only add features to go further.
Elsewhere, the China diaspora also lives in the United States, Japan, and Canada. Each country has its own page, with its cities and meetups.
