How many people from Belize live abroad?
According to the United Nations, 5,380 people from Belize live abroad.
However, the figure counts migrants, not their children born abroad. The real diaspora is therefore larger.

Neighbouring diasporas
Other countries in the Americas also have their diaspora on Compatri: Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, United States, and Brazil. Each page gathers its countries of residence, its cities and its national day.
Finding people from Belize near you
Compatri brings diasporas together where they live. First, you choose the community of your city. Then you discover what its members organise: meals, parties, afterworks or mutual aid. Finally, you message compatriots who share your interests.
You can also host your own meetup: a meal, an outing or a party. It then appears to members of your city, and you follow sign-ups from your account.
Your exact location never appears: other members only see an approximate area. In addition, joining a community and attending events costs nothing.
Belize Independence Day
Every September 21, the national day brings the Belize diaspora together. Wherever the diaspora lives, communities also organise concerts, meals and gatherings.
